WareraHQ
“A government can't help citizens it can't see. Put every one of them on one screen, and say who needs what.”
In numbers
The problem
In WarEra, countries are run by players. A country's ministers want their citizens to do well: companies that earn, workers paid fairly, daily missions done. But the game only shows them one player at a time.
With hundreds of citizens across many parties and military units, nobody can check them all by hand, so the people who need help are the ones nobody notices.
The idea: one screen for the whole country, and a list of exactly who to help and how.
What it does
- Country overview. Summary cards and tables by party and by military unit, with filters.
- Fix list. Workers costing more than they produce, companies losing money, full storage, bonuses about to end, each with the fix to send the owner.
- Move advice. Companies that would earn more in another region or making another item, worked out with the same maths as WarEra Buddy.
- Daily missions. Who has claimed today's missions and who hasn't, checked again late in the day so players can still be nudged.
- Party, unit and player pages. Members, companies and a history of changes, with each player's Discord name so ministers know who to message.
- Refresh on demand. A guarded button that re-reads the whole game when the ministers need fresh numbers.
How it's built
Visitors never touch the game's servers. A Python crawler reads the official game API three times a day into SQLite, works out the fix list, and exports static data the site reads. A failed run changes nothing on the site and alerts my phone.
It's gentle with the game. It stays well under the API's rate limit, batches up to 50 calls into one request, backs off when asked, and picks up where it stopped if a run is cut short.
Only public game data is kept. Private profile fields are dropped the moment they arrive and never reach the database or the site.
It grew out of the Party Management Tool, widened from one party to a whole country. It runs 24/7 on my own home server behind a Cloudflare tunnel, with health checks, weekly backups and phone alerts.
